JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (June 13, 2024) -- Clean Brands™, LLC, the largest dry cleaning and laundry company in the world and franchisor for Martinizing® Cleaners, has announced new ownership of its Martinizing Jacksonville location.
Located at 1607-1 University Blvd W, the family-run business has proudly served the greater Jacksonville area since 2002, when husband-and-wife duo, Dave and Cynthia Olson, first joined the franchise. Together, the Olsons have provided Jacksonville and its surrounding communities with internationally recognized dry cleaning services through their store and a convenient doorstep pick-up and delivery service available from 7 AM to 6 PM during the week, and 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays.
The company will continue to offer unparalleled garment services under the new leadership of Gavin Smith. Smith also owns a Martinizing Cleaners in Fleming Island.
"Cynthia and Dave built a successful business in Jacksonville for the past twenty years, and my main priority is to let our past, present, and future clients know that the company they've become comfortable with isn't going anywhere," said Smith. "They are incredible people and have fully embraced me, which has allowed for a seamless transition. The Olsons' presence cannot easily be replaced. Their work ethic and commitment to our clients and the community will remain a vital part of our culture. I am looking forward to building on what they have created."
Over the past 22 years, the Olsons made a lasting impression on the Jacksonville community. Originally joining the dry cleaning industry as the solution to their search for second careers, the pair quickly fell in love with the business and the people it allowed them to meet. Their philanthropic efforts include support for the community's annual nativity scene, contributions to the Salvation Army, and countless warm welcomes to new community members, which Smith plans to continue.

"Although we didn't have experience in the industry before opening our Martinizing Cleaners, Dave and I had plenty of experience helping people - that's what allowed the business to instantly click for us. Our work venture quickly became part of who we are as people, and it's hard to leave that behind, but we know it's time. We're incredibly grateful for the relationships we've built along the way and the people we've gotten to help over the years, but we know that Gavin has the tools and know-how to continue our business' reputation and even improve upon it."
